Synopsis
Key Takeaways
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday, 13 May 2026 declared the Class 12 Board Examination 2026 results, with the Trivandrum region of Kerala emerging as the top-performing region in the country with a pass percentage of 95.62%. The announcement also included details on digital document access through DigiLocker and the UMANG app for students across India.
Region-Wise Pass Percentage Rankings
Trivandrum claimed the top spot nationally, followed by Chennai (Tamil Nadu) at 93.84% and Bengaluru (Karnataka) at 93.19%. The Vijayawada region in Andhra Pradesh recorded 92.77%, while Delhi West registered 92.34% and Delhi East posted 91.73%.
Among other regions, Ahmedabad recorded 90.60%, Gurugram registered 88.45%, Ludhiana logged 87.92%, and Pune posted 87.32%. At the lower end, the Prayagraj region recorded the lowest pass percentage at 72.43%, while Patna registered 74.45% — a gap of over 23 percentage points separating the top and bottom regions, underscoring persistent regional disparities in board outcomes.
How Students Can Access Digital Documents
CBSE has made academic documents available digitally through its repository Parinam Manjusha immediately after result declaration. Documents accessible include marksheets, passing certificates, migration certificates, and skill certificates.
Students can access these through the DigiLocker mobile application, available on the Google Play Store, or via the UMANG mobile app. Students studying abroad will receive digital documents via email through the CBSE DigiLocker page, while printed marksheets and certificates will continue to be dispatched through their respective schools.
Private candidates will receive electronic documents in DigiLocker using their Aadhaar number. For printed documents, students from all regions except Delhi East and Delhi West will have them sent to the address mentioned in the examination form. Students from these two Delhi regions must collect printed documents from their respective examination centres.
Compartment and Improvement Examinations
CBSE confirmed that the process for students wishing to improve their performance after passing the Main Examination 2026, as well as for students placed in the compartment category, will commence from 2 June 2026. A detailed circular regarding the process will be issued shortly.
The entire process will be conducted online only. The Board has warned that once the online list is submitted, no changes in name or subject will be accepted. Schools and students have been advised to strictly adhere to prescribed timelines, as no application will be entertained after the last date.
What This Means for Students
The shift to fully digital document delivery marks a significant step in CBSE's ongoing administrative modernisation. This is the second consecutive year in which Parinam Manjusha has been positioned as the primary repository for academic credentials, reducing dependence on physical document dispatch and school intermediaries. For the over 16 lakh students who appear for the Class 12 examination annually, faster digital access to certificates could meaningfully ease admissions timelines at colleges and universities. With improvement and compartment registrations opening on 2 June 2026, affected students have a narrow window to plan their next steps.
