Celebrating 'Swarnim Bharat: Heritage and Development' at the 2025 Republic Day Parade

New Delhi, Dec 23 (NationPress) For the upcoming 2025 Republic Day festivities in the national capital, the theme for the tableaux has been established as 'Swarnim Bharat: Heritage and Development', according to a Defence Ministry representative.

During the Republic Day celebrations, various states, union territories (UTs), and Central government ministries present their tableaux along the Kartavya Path each year.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced that the following 15 states/UTs have been chosen to display their tableaux on the Kartavya Path for the 2025 Republic Day festivities: Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

Additionally, 11 Central government Ministries/Departments are also slated to participate in the 2025 Republic Day celebrations.

All states/UTs, regardless of their selection for the Kartavya Path, are encouraged to showcase their tableaux during Bharat Parv at the Red Fort from January 26 to 31.

The selection process is rigorous, equitable, transparent, merit-based, and devoid of bias.

The chosen tableaux will reflect India's rich diversity and its ongoing journey towards cultural inclusiveness, presenting 'Swarnim Bharat -- Heritage and Development' to a global audience, the official noted.

The MoD mentioned that a consultative approach has been adopted throughout this year to discuss various elements related to the tableaux.

An official-level meeting took place in April 2024 to discuss enhancements in tableau quality.

Recommendations from this meeting have been integrated into the selection process.

The theme for the tableaux was also shaped by feedback from the states and UTs.

A systematic approach is in place for selecting tableaux to participate in the Republic Day Parade, wherein the MoD invites submissions of tableaux from all states/UTs and Central ministries/departments.

The proposals received are reviewed by an expert committee comprising distinguished individuals from various fields, including art, culture, painting, sculpture, music, architecture, and choreography.

The MoD highlighted that tableaux play a significant role in the Republic Day Parade.

Owing to the limited time available for tableaux during the parade, the Expert Committee shortlists the entries.

While assessing the tableau concepts submitted by different states/UTs and ministries, several key factors were taken into account, including conceptual originality, creative expression with a clear message, a balance between Virasat and Vikas in each tableau, avoidance of repetitive ideas, and meticulous attention to details such as colours, forms, textures, flow, rhythm, proportions, and balance to ensure a visually appealing and grand aesthetic experience.
