Raipur, Aug 7 (NationPress) In an effort to empower local youth and enhance their employability, the State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) has launched a transformative 35-day training program aimed at unemployed individuals in the Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district of Chhattisgarh.
Conducted at a college hostel in Tikarkala, Gaurela, this initiative focuses on providing both men and women with essential skills in the beauty industry.
This comprehensive program is offered completely free of charge, including accommodation and meals for participants.
Upon completion, trainees have the opportunity to apply for bank loans to start their own businesses.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the Central Government to foster self-sufficiency and create new employment pathways for local residents.
The RSETI aims to help youth recognize their potential while equipping them with necessary skills that contribute to the local economy.
Participants expressed their excitement about the training. Shraddha Rathore, currently enrolled in the beautician course, shared, “I am learning to become a junior beautician. The program educates us on cosmetics and the workings of a beauty parlour. Everything, including food and lodging, is provided at no cost, allowing us to gain independence.”
Another trainee, Devika Rathore, commented on her experience, stating, “We are trained as beauticians without any expenses. This program enables us to learn all aspects of beauty parlour operations, leading to self-reliance.”
Sahina Thakur, an instructor, elaborated on the curriculum, “We cover a variety of services such as pedicure, manicure, hair bonding, waxing, nail art, hair straightening, and body massage. Private parlours may charge up to Rs 1 lakh for similar training, but here, it’s provided at no cost, enabling participants to become self-employed in the future.”
Sandhya Kashyap, a member of RSETI’s training institute, emphasized the importance of this government initiative, which targets youth aged 19 to 45, aiming to foster their self-sufficiency.
She highlighted that there are 11 disciplines available for training, designed to equip youth with skills for both employment and entrepreneurship.
The courses cover various professions, including masonry, dairy, compost production, fast food stalls, horticulture, and beauty services.
Importantly, RSETIs—Rural Self Employment Training Institutes—are a government initiative under the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), present in every district across the nation, dedicated to training and skill enhancement of rural youth for entrepreneurship.
These institutes operate with the support of both the Indian government and state governments.
