Rajouri, June 2 (NationPress) In an outstanding initiative to equip around three dozen women in the border district with beautician skills, the state government has launched a training program at the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), operated by the Jammu and Kashmir Bank. Over the next 15 days, a group of 35 young women from Rajouri district will undergo this training.

The Central scheme, facilitated by the Ministry of Rural Development, aims to empower women by providing them with vocational abilities, thus promoting self-reliance. This 15-day program is part of a larger government effort to uplift rural youth, particularly women, through complimentary skill development and entrepreneurship training.

The trainees expressed deep gratitude to the Central government for implementing such initiatives, offering heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his eleven-year tenure.

“These training sessions instill confidence and equip us with the necessary skills to initiate our own enterprises. RSETI also provides us with guidance and access to bank loans to support our business ventures,” one participant shared.

Suniel Sharma, Director of RSETI Rajouri, emphasized the institute's commitment to fostering self-employment.

“Every year, we conduct various training sessions in diverse trades, including tailoring, electrical work, and IT skills. Our aim is to empower unemployed youth to become job creators rather than job seekers,” he stated.

Through its 12 RSETIs across Jammu & Kashmir—including Rajouri, Poonch, and Srinagar—J&K Bank plays a crucial role in assisting rural youth in launching micro-enterprises and improving their livelihoods.

After completing the beautician course, many trainees are eager to start their own businesses or explore opportunities in the booming beauty and wellness sector.

Currently, there are about 591 RSETIs operating nationwide, delivering skill and entrepreneurship development programs to help rural unemployed youth establish self-employment units and initiatives.
