Patna, April 16 (NationPress) Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan has strongly condemned Congress leaders for their demonstrations in Patna following the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) charge sheet in the National Herald case, describing it as an attempt to obstruct the investigation.

While addressing the media on Wednesday, Chirag Paswan stated: "No one is above the law. If anyone is guilty, action will be taken—regardless of their stature or family background. Protesting in the streets to sway the investigation is unacceptable.”

The ED has submitted a charge sheet in the prominent National Herald case, which implicates senior Congress figures Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as accused.

The Congress party, alleging political vendetta, organized nationwide protests, including a significant rally outside the ED office in Patna, where party members vandalized signage with black paint.

Chirag Paswan also criticized the opposition INDIA bloc, which is set to convene a crucial meeting in Patna on Thursday.

He characterized the alliance as significantly fractured, especially in Bihar, where disagreements over seat-sharing and leadership roles remain contentious.

“There is a struggle among alliance partners for dominance. The RJD is endorsing Tejashwi Yadav for CM, while the Congress refuses to yield. The Congress has brought in leaders like Pappu Yadav, which the RJD opposes. All is not well within the INDIA alliance,” Paswan remarked.

He further noted that resolving internal conflicts during Thursday's meeting would be a significant challenge for the INDIA bloc. In contrast to the INDIA bloc, Paswan highlighted the solidarity within the five-party coalition in Bihar.

“The NDA is robust and unified. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is honoring his commitments, Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting regularly, and all our partners are collaborating. We are on the path to a major victory,” he affirmed.

He dismissed Tejashwi Yadav's assertion that the NDA government will collapse in the next election, stating: “They’ve been making these claims for years. What have they achieved? What is their strategy for Bihar? Do they have a vision to develop Bihar?”

Paswan accused the opposition of bringing Bihar to the brink of ruin during their past governance: “Why should the public trust you? You introduced Jungle Raj. You lack a plan for Bihar’s future.”
