Amaravati, March 12 (NationPress) In a remarkable turn of events, the police in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, successfully thwarted a robbery attempt at the residence of a prominent businessman after a tense standoff that lasted nearly three hours on Wednesday.
The police apprehended five robbers and confiscated two firearms along with rubber bullets from them.
The occurrence on Gandhi Road sent shockwaves through the community, and after an extensive operation lasting close to three hours, law enforcement managed to regain control by arresting the culprits.
As per police reports, a gang of robbers broke into the home of Chandrasekhar, who runs a shop dealing in children's clothing, toys, and various other goods, around 6 a.m., firing shots into the air.
During this incident, he reportedly suffered injuries.
In a surprising development, authorities also apprehended a local businessman implicated in orchestrating the robbery.
Within hours following the incident, police detained the owner of a furniture store, who allegedly contracted the robbers to target Chandrasekhar's residence, situated next to Pushpa Kids World.
Upon receiving information regarding the robbery, the police took immediate action, cordoning off Gandhi Road to capture the suspects.
