While addressing the sixth summit of the seven-nation alliance, the Prime Minister also recommended establishing a BIMSTEC Chamber of Commerce and exploring local currency trade promotion within the region.

The BIMSTEC Summit embraced the Bangkok Vision 2030, reaffirming a shared commitment to prosperity, security, and inclusiveness in the Bay of Bengal area.

PM Modi further emphasized the necessity of continuously expanding the BIMSTEC grouping's scope and capabilities, welcoming the establishment of the Home Ministers Mechanism and offering to host its inaugural meeting in India.
