CISF Establishes Quality Control Unit to Elevate Aviation Security Standards

New Delhi, Dec 7 (NationPress) To promote international standards in airport security, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is launching an Internal Quality Control Unit (IQCU) dedicated to the Aviation Security Group (ASG) stationed at 68 airports across India.

This initiative aims to enhance aviation security and will be pivotal in establishing world-class security protocols and integrating new technology.

The initiative aligns with the National Civil Aviation Security Quality Control Programme-2024 (NCASQCP) released by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and the Aircraft (Security) Rules-2023, as indicated in an official statement.

The IQCU will be an integral part of the Aviation Security Control Center (ASCC), which was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on July 22, 2023.

The ASCC features advanced components such as the Incident Management Centre, Aviation Research and Data Centre, and Centralized Communication Control Centre, which will collaborate with the IQCU to address existing security challenges and bolster the overall security framework of Indian airports.

This system will also extend to airports participating in the Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAAN).

The IQCU will be directed by a senior CISF officer alongside a team of certified Aviation Security (AVSEC) instructors, national auditors, and seasoned professionals who will be key in standardizing procedures and ensuring consistency in security operations across all airports through uniform training and evaluation practices.

Additionally, the IQCU will be instrumental in driving technological innovation by advocating for the integration of new technologies based on field trials and global best practices.

Its responsibilities will also include conducting internal inspections and audits in accordance with ICAO/BCAS guidelines to assess security operations and implement necessary corrective actions, as stated in the announcement.

The IQCU will continuously monitor, review, and update security protocols to adhere to established standards, ensuring compliance, technological efficacy, and operational efficiency.

Moreover, it will gather and analyze feedback from ASGs following International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), BCAS, and NCASQCP standards to identify deficiencies and enhance performance.
