Akola (Maharashtra), Feb 17 (NationPress) At least six individuals sustained injuries following a clash between two groups in Hatrun village of Akola district, Maharashtra on Monday.
The confrontation erupted around 3:30 PM when members from both factions began to throw stones, damage property, and set vehicles ablaze.
Law enforcement has confirmed the apprehension of three individuals and has increased surveillance in the area to preserve law and order.
According to the police, a minor disagreement between the two groups escalated violently, resulting in fighting, stone throwing, and arson. During the altercation, a vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. Both sides engaged in significant stone pelting and vandalism, causing heightened tensions in the village.
Akola district SP Bachchan Singh verified that six people were injured, with three arrests made thus far and efforts underway to identify and locate other involved individuals. The injured parties are receiving treatment at the Akola district hospital, with one individual reported in critical condition.
“The conflict was triggered when one group suspected the other was alerting the police about their activities. This suspicion led to an attack by the second group on the first, rapidly escalating the situation,” stated the Akola SP.
He added that a significant police presence has been established in Hatrun village, ensuring that the situation remains stable.
