Nandurbar (Maharashtra), Jan 20 (NationPress) A violent incident involving stone-pelting and arson erupted between two factions within the jurisdiction of the Nandurbar City police station late on Sunday night (January 19).
The turmoil escalated after a minor collision occurred on Sunday morning between an auto rickshaw and a motorcycle, triggering unrest in the locality.
Reports indicate that several individuals, alleged to be social activists, attempted to commit arson and engaged in stone-throwing, which prompted immediate action from the Nandurbar police.
According to Nandurbar Superintendent of Police (SP) Shravan S. Dutt, "At approximately 10 p.m. last night, members of a specific community initiated stone pelting. Earlier that day, a complaint was filed concerning an incident, which preceded the outbreak of violence. Police forces present at the scene effectively managed the situation, preventing violence from spreading to surrounding areas. No reports of property damage or injuries have been noted. Offences are currently being registered, and we have identified several suspects."
