Jaipur, March 28 (NationPress) A confrontation late last night in Jodhpur turned chaotic, leading to stone-pelting and vandalism, which has caused significant unrest in the vicinity.

Images and videos of the confrontation have emerged, prompting law enforcement to initiate a manhunt for the suspects, according to officials.

The disturbance occurred on Friday night in the Acharya Ka Bas neighborhood, where a disagreement erupted after a group of young men reportedly collided their motorcycles with women. When some locals attempted to assist, they were met with hostility.

Things escalated further when the alleged offenders returned with additional members of their group and began throwing stones. Authorities have initiated a search operation, and the situation is presently stabilized.

As per police reports, a religious event was taking place at Mehron Ka Chowk, and women were on their way to the nearby Bholavani Mela. During this time, two young men on a motorcycle from Layakan Mohalla reportedly crashed into the women and fell onto the roadway. Witnesses suggested the individuals appeared intoxicated.

Residents attempted to de-escalate the situation, but the young men persisted in their disruptive behavior.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that locals tried to aid the injured individuals, but they allegedly began to shove, insult, and quarrel with those offering help.

As tensions mounted and a crowd gathered, the young men fled the scene. However, they soon returned with others and commenced throwing stones at women and local residents, inciting panic.

During the turmoil, a local youth named Nitesh suffered serious injuries. The assailants also vandalized parked vehicles and damaged decorative lights and setups for the local festivities. After wreaking havoc, they escaped.

Upon receiving alerts, DCP (East) Manish Kumar Chaudhary arrived at the location, where furious locals shouted demands for the immediate capture of the culprits. The situation was calmed following police intervention.

Police Commissioner Sharad Kaviraj also visited the area and instructed officials to quickly identify and apprehend those responsible.

Security measures have been heightened in the region. Locals have recorded videos of the incident, which are now being utilized by police to pinpoint the offenders.

Officials have assured the public that those involved will be tracked down and arrested promptly.

DCP Manish confirmed that the situation is now under control, stating that a substantial police presence was deployed immediately after reports of stone-pelting during the Gangaur procession.

In the meantime, the FIR registration process has begun based on a written complaint from the affected party. So far, police have detained multiple suspects for questioning, he added.
