Hazaribagh, March 26 (NationPress) Numerous individuals sustained injuries due to stone pelting that erupted between two factions during a 'Mangala procession' in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, late on Tuesday night. The disturbance occurred in the vicinity of Jhanda Chowk and Jama Masjid Road, creating an atmosphere of unrest in the locality.
The conflict reportedly ignited over a disagreement regarding a song that was played during the procession.
Witnesses claim that a verbal dispute among members of both groups rapidly intensified, resulting in stone pelting from both camps. Numerous people suffered injuries amidst the turmoil.
Law enforcement discharged four to five rounds into the air and deployed tear gas canisters to disperse the assembly.
Senior police officials, including SP Arvind Kumar Singh, reached the scene and managed to stabilize the situation.
"A clash occurred between two factions during the Mangala procession. The situation has been brought under control," stated SP Singh, advising the public against believing in rumors.
He mentioned that the police are in the process of filing FIRs against those involved in the disturbances.

The Ram Navami festival is celebrated extensively in Hazaribagh, drawing thousands of participants from both the city and surrounding areas. As part of the custom, Mangala processions are organized from various Akharas with drums, Mahaveeri flags, and other religious insignia every Tuesday evening throughout the Chaitra month.
Members of the Ram Navami Mahasamiti and local community leaders also stepped in to mediate and restore peace.
