Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu offered prayers on the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi on Monday, 14 September, alongside his family at his official residence in Amaravati. His wife Bhuvaneswari and grandson Devansh participated in the puja, marking the auspicious festival with a family gathering.

CM Naidu's Message on the Occasion

Following the prayers, Naidu shared his reflections on social media platform X, describing the puja to Gananathudu as a source of 'immense spiritual fulfilment.' He characterised Ganapati as 'a symbol of wisdom, discernment, and victory,' and underlined the tradition of beginning auspicious undertakings with Vinayaka puja.

He also highlighted the broader social significance of the festival. 'The Chavithi celebrations, which remove obstacles and guide us on the righteous path, teach us social awareness and unity. They impart a sense of togetherness,' he wrote. The Chief Minister expressed hope that every household in Andhra Pradesh would be blessed with happiness and prosperity, and specifically prayed that all obstacles to the state's development be removed.

Naidu's Earlier Festival Greetings

Before the puja, Naidu had conveyed his wishes to citizens across the state, calling the festival a unifying occasion that 'brings together people from all sections in one place.' He urged the public to embrace the tradition of worshipping clay Vinayaka idols as a step toward environmental responsibility, saying cultural traditions should be 'celebrated even more splendidly' while protecting the environment.

Governor, Deputy CM and Opposition Also Extend Wishes

Governor S. Abdul Nazeer extended his congratulations, describing Vinayaka Chavithi as 'an important festival celebrated with great fervour, devotion and gaiety.' He noted that devotees traditionally invoke Lord Vigneswara for the removal of obstacles and the success of new ventures.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, the Jana Sena leader, also greeted citizens on the occasion. 'Faith, wisdom and new beginnings come together in the divine presence of Lord Ganesha,' he said, adding a call for the festival to inspire 'hope, harmony and devotion' while respecting the environment.

Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also posted his greetings on X, praying that 'the compassionate gaze of Vighneshwara, the remover of obstacles, and Siddhi Vinayaka, the bestower of victories,' remain upon the people of the state.

Vinayaka Chavithi, also observed nationally as Ganesh Chaturthi, is one of the most widely celebrated festivals in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with community pandal celebrations drawing participants from across social groups.
