Amaravati, Feb 6 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has expressed his gratitude to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, for his unwavering commitment to enhancing the national highway infrastructure within the state.

“I am thrilled to witness the emphasis on the connectivity of both existing and emerging ports under development. The connectivity initiative for Machilipatnam port is pivotal for linking the hinterland to the port, thereby minimizing logistics expenses. We are dedicated to providing all necessary support for the expedited execution of National Highways in Andhra Pradesh,” the Chief Minister shared on 'X'.

In earlier statements, Nitin Gadkari revealed that his ministry has sanctioned an allocation of Rs 573.77 crore for the construction of a six-lane external port connectivity road, which will link the intersection of NH-65 and NH-216 to Machilipatnam Port via the bypass section of NH-216.

“This project will establish direct and seamless connectivity between Machilipatnam Port and the national highway network, significantly decreasing freight turnaround times, alleviating traffic congestion, and improving overall logistics efficiency. The approved plan encompasses a six-lane main carriageway, service roads, three flyovers, and an overpass-cum-railway overbridge (ROB),” noted the Central minister.

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information Technology and Human Resources Development, Nara Lokesh, expressed his appreciation to Gadkari for the transformative enhancements to the state's infrastructure and port-driven growth.

“This six-lane external connectivity road to Machilipatnam Port will enhance logistics efficiency and unlock new economic prospects for our state. We are thankful for your ongoing leadership in constructing world-class highways that fuel India's growth and the future of Andhra Pradesh,” Lokesh tweeted.
