Speaking at the event, the CM framed the occasion in stark arithmetic: 'కేవలం 3 శాతం మంది ఉద్యోగులు 95 శాతం ప్రజలకు సేవలు అందిస్తున్నారు' — 'just 3 per cent of employees are serving 95 per cent of the people.' He noted that Telangana's 10.5 lakh government employees — spanning permanent, contract, and outsourced staff — are the sole delivery mechanism for 4 crore citizens. That ratio, he said, demands extraordinary dedication.

Treating the poor as family — the CM's message to district officials

The CM's address went beyond inauguration ceremony boilerplate. He asked officials to treat every poor person who arrives at a government office in distress as a family member, not a file number. 'Government offices must inspire trust and confidence in the poor,' he said, adding that welfare scheme benefits reach the needy only when every employee works with genuine commitment.

He was equally candid about the state of employee welfare: salaries are now disbursed on the first of every month since the Congress government took office in late 2023, and work on promotions, transfers, retirement benefits, pay revision commission (PRC) outcomes, and health security is ongoing. 'I am not saying all problems are solved,' he acknowledged. 'There are still issues — but let us serve the public even as we resolve them together.'

₹944 crore in Karimnagar — and ₹840 crore from the Centre's Urban Challenge Fund

The CM announced that development works worth ₹944 crore have been launched in Karimnagar district, with additional foundation stones laid for further projects. Separately, he said the state had secured ₹840 crore under the Urban Challenge Fund with central government support — and he made clear he has no hesitation congratulating the Centre when it cooperates with Telangana's development agenda.

'Politics is for election time,' he said bluntly. 'For the rest of the time, state and central governments must move forward in mutual cooperation.' He cited a live example: the long-standing cantonment area bottleneck on the Karimnagar–Hyderabad corridor, which had blocked connectivity for years. After personally meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the state secured approximately 170 acres of cantonment land within six months of taking office.

Elevated corridor, Begumpet runway road, and what comes next

The released cantonment land is now earmarked for an elevated corridor worth approximately ₹5,000 crore, with a target of completion within one year. The CM also disclosed that permissions have been obtained to build a road under the runway of Begumpet Airport — a connectivity fix that had long been considered impossible. He committed to returning to Karimnagar for a comprehensive district review at a future date.

The message from Karimnagar on Wednesday was layered: a state government signalling administrative modernisation through a new office complex, fiscal muscle through nearly ₹1,800 crore in combined project announcements, and political pragmatism by sharing a stage with a BJP Union minister while insisting development must transcend party lines.
