During the oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected office bearers of the Bar Association of Jaipur, held at the District and Sessions Court complex in Banipark, Sharma pointed out that advocates act as a vital link between the legal framework and the public, assisting individuals in understanding the law and pursuing justice.
He called upon the legal professionals to strive towards fulfilling the needs of the most disadvantaged groups in society, ensuring that justice is accessible to every person.
The Chief Minister remarked that a robust and dynamic democracy can only thrive when its three branches—the legislature, executive, and judiciary—perform their duties with integrity and maintain a balanced institutional framework.
Sharma noted that lawyers, partnered with the judiciary, are pivotal in upholding the Constitution and protecting citizens' fundamental rights.
“Lawyers not only facilitate justice but also foster awareness and responsibility among the populace. Their contributions are vital in fortifying democratic institutions and aiding in nation-building,” stated Sharma.
Touching on judicial reforms, he mentioned that the state government is dedicated to providing timely and accessible justice, asserting that development cannot be deemed complete without a competent justice delivery system.
He highlighted that the execution of three new criminal laws at the local level has enhanced the justice framework in Rajasthan and improved the efficiency of legal operations.
Sharma also mentioned the enhancement of special courts and fast-track systems across the state to alleviate case backlog and ensure prompt resolutions.
While congratulating the newly appointed executive committee of the Bar Association, Jaipur, he recognized the institution as a significant hub of legal heritage, intellectual discourse, and professional ethics.
He asserted that the Bar Association plays a crucial role in advocating for legal reforms and fortifying the justice delivery mechanism.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced that the state government is implementing measures to support lawyers and enhance judicial infrastructure.
He revealed that 42 new courts have been established throughout Rajasthan, including eight District and Sessions Courts in areas such as Phalodi and Khairthal-Tijara.
Additional District and Sessions Courts have also been inaugurated in Bari Sadri and Keshoraipatan.
Special POCSO courts have been set up in Hanumangarh, Sawai Madhopur, Churu, Bikaner, and Jodhpur, while Special Judicial Magistrate (NI Act) Courts have been launched in Jhunjhunu.
Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Courts have also been introduced in Pahari (Deeg) and Khairthal-Tijara.
Sharma stated that the government is promoting e-court systems, digital filing, and technological advancements to boost efficiency and accessibility within the judiciary.
He assured legal practitioners that their rightful demands will be met with sympathy by the state government.
Earlier, the Chief Minister administered the oath of office to the newly elected members of the District Bar Association.
The ceremony was attended by Urban Development and Self-Governance Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, MLA Gopal Sharma, Rajasthan High Court judges Justice Anil Kumar Upman and Justice Manish Sharma, Bar Council of Rajasthan Chairman Bhuvnesh Sharma, Bar Association Jaipur President Somesh Chand Sharma, along with senior advocates.
