Shimla, April 23 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, expressed his strong condemnation on Wednesday regarding the terror attack that occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in numerous fatalities and left many others injured.
Reports indicate that at least 26 tourists lost their lives when armed assailants opened fire on unarmed civilians in Baisaran, Jammu and Kashmir.
Labeling this as a cowardly act, the Chief Minister emphasized that such events are intolerable in a civilized society and that anti-social elements must be dealt with decisively.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this profoundly tragic period. We stand in steadfast unity with the families of those affected by this heinous act," he stated.
CM Sukhu also prayed for the Almighty to provide peace to the departed souls and strength to the grieving families coping with this irrevocable loss.

The attack occurred on Tuesday in the Baisaran Valley, close to the tourist destination of Pahalgam.
Eyewitness accounts reveal that a group of heavily armed terrorists emerged from adjacent forests and indiscriminately fired upon civilians, primarily targeting tourists.
Reports suggest that two to three terrorists, donned in Army fatigues, opened fire at horse-riding tourists in the Baisaran area around 2:30 p.m.
Baisaran is a picturesque meadow situated three to four kilometers from Pahalgam market, accessible only by horseback due to the absence of a motorable road.
In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi on Wednesday morning, cutting short his trip to Saudi Arabia as a result of the terror attack.
He held a brief meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at the airport.
PM Modi condemned the terror attack vehemently, asserting that those responsible will face justice and reaffirming India's unwavering commitment to combat terrorism.
