Ramesh, who serves as the General Secretary in charge of Communications for Congress, expressed in a social media update, “The Bharat Jodo Yatra concluded three years ago with @RahulGandhi’s inspiring speech at Srinagar. This remarkable 4,000 km march was undertaken by Rahul Gandhi and over 200 Bharat Yatris on foot, stretching from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. It lasted for over 145 days, traversing 12 states and 2 Union Territories.

The Congress leader emphasized, “This Yatra highlighted three crucial issues: escalating economic inequalities, growing social polarization, and increasing political authoritarianism. It transformed the political landscape of our nation and will be remembered fondly for generations.”

On January 30, 2023, Rahul Gandhi’s BJY concluded with a flag hoisting ceremony at the party headquarters and a public rally at the Sher-e-Kashmir cricket stadium in the Sonwar area of the city.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress general secretary, also spoke at the rally.

During the rally, Rahul Gandhi mentioned that he had been warned of potential attacks in Kashmir, but the local people welcomed him with open hearts rather than hostility.

Twenty-one parties were invited to the BJY culmination event, although the Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party were unable to attend.

The 'Padayatra' concluded in the Lal Chowk area, where Rahul Gandhi unfurled the national flag, with the official closing ceremony occurring the following day.

The journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir began on September 7 and finished on January 30 in Srinagar, covering 3,970 km across 12 states and 2 Union territories.

Throughout the yatra, Rahul Gandhi engaged in over 100 corner meetings and held 13 press conferences. Additionally, he conducted more than 275 planned walking interactions and had over 100 sittings.
