Patna, Aug 17 (NationPress) The INDIA bloc is set to commence the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' today from Sasaram in response to the purported irregularities in the voter list revision in Bihar.
This extensive 1,300 km journey will be co-led by the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav.
Prominent figures such as Mallikarjun Kharge, the National President of Congress, Dipankar Bhattacharya, General Secretary of CPI(ML), and Mukesh Sahani, chief of VIP, will also participate.
On Saturday, final preparations were made. The vehicle, which was specifically designed for Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, has been refurbished for this initiative.
Rahul is scheduled to land at Gaya airport and will travel by helicopter to SP Jain College, Sasaram, where the yatra will officially begin with a public gathering at noon.
During this 16-day campaign, Rahul Gandhi plans to interact with the public both on foot and via vehicle, based on the population density.
The yatra will include two to three public meetings every day, along with roadshows and foot marches at various locations.
Accommodations for the night will be arranged in tents at 13 different locations along the route. The first stop for rest will be at Babhandih Sports Ground in Kutumba, Aurangabad.
This Voter Rights Yatra, organized by the INDIA bloc, will traverse 25 districts over the course of 16 days and will conclude with a grand public meeting at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on September 1.
A special media van, adorned with posters of Rahul and Tejashwi, will accompany the yatra.
As stated by the leaders of the INDIA bloc, the objectives of this campaign are twofold: to raise awareness among voters regarding their rights and to unveil alleged significant deletions from the electoral rolls, particularly affecting Dalit, backward, and minority communities.

According to the itinerary, the yatra will initiate from Rohtas on August 17, reach Aurangabad on August 18, Gaya and Nawada on August 19, with a break on August 20.
The INDIA bloc Yatra will continue from Lakhisarai-Sheikhpura on August 21, reaching Munger and Bhagalpur on August 22, then Katihar on August 23, and Purnea and Araria on August 24.
A break will be taken on August 25 before resuming on August 26 from Supaul. The yatra will then proceed to Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur on August 27, Sitamarhi and Motihari on August 28, Betiah, Gopalganj, and Siwan on August 29, Chhapra and Ara on August 30. After a break on August 31, the yatra will culminate at Gandhi Maidan in Patna with a large rally on September 1.
