Hyderabad, Jan 15 (NationPress) - Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar issued a stern warning to the Congress government in Telangana on Thursday, urging them not to "tamper with our faith".

His comments came in response to the recent vandalism at the Puranapul temple in Hyderabad, which occurred on Wednesday night. He criticized the Congress government for their 'silence' regarding such incidents.

Bandi Sanjay alleged that the series of attacks indicates a clear pattern. “First it was Safilguda, now Puranapul. How many more temples will be targeted, Congress?” he questioned, referring to the desecration of Hindu temples in Old City of Hyderabad just a day after a violent attack at the Katta Maisamma Temple. He condemned Congress's inaction and Asaduddin Owaisi's dismissal of the incidents as having 'no relevance', while blaming the Sangh.

“When the first incident occurred, Congress remained inactive. Is targeting Hindu temples becoming the norm in Hyderabad? Are we being tested because of Hindu patience? When Hindus attempt to defend their faith, they face legal repercussions, whereas criminals receive the “mentally unstable” shield. This is not mere coincidence; it is a systematic pattern. Law and order have disintegrated, replaced by appeasement. Fear of law has vanished,” the BJP leader stated.

“Cease gaslighting Hindus. Stop pretending that nothing is amiss. Secure our temples. This serves as a clear warning to the Congress government – do not meddle with our faith,” Bandi Sanjay stated further.

Meanwhile, N. Ramchander Rao, the state BJP president, visited the Puranapul temple and emphasized that these incidents are part of a disturbing trend of temple desecrations in Telangana.

“The Purnapul Darwaza, which features a small Devi temple, holds historical significance. It is where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj stayed during his journey to Srisailam. The desecration of such a sacred site by extremist elements indicates a deliberate conspiracy. Extremists entered Purnapul Darwaza and destroyed a flex banner of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and desecrated Goddess Idols,” Rao shared on X.

He pointed out that only three days prior, the Muthyalamma Temple in Safilguda had also been targeted.

“Before that, there was an attempt to desecrate the Hanuman Temple in Keesara. These ongoing attacks on Hindu worship places clearly signify systematic targeting rather than isolated incidents. The Congress party is responsible for fostering such an environment. Phrases like 'Muslim is Congress and Congress is Muslim' have intensified insecurity among Hindus and conveyed a dangerous message of political appeasement. These extremist groups are being emboldened by Congress's rhetoric and persistent inaction,” he asserted, demanding an immediate and unbiased investigation and stringent action against the offenders.

Additionally, MLA Raja Singh visited the Puranapul temple and condemned the vandalism as profoundly offensive and hurtful to religious sentiments.

Raja Singh, who left the BJP last year, remarked that such incidents are escalating in Hyderabad.

“The government and administration must implement strict measures promptly, before the situation escalates out of control. I urge that severe action is taken against the perpetrators and that the security of religious sites is fully ensured. It is our collective responsibility to maintain peace, harmony, and goodwill in society. Any antisocial behavior must be firmly addressed in accordance with the law,” he declared.
