Significant Rise in Crimes Against Women in Telangana: Bandi Sanjay Kumar

Hyderabad, Jan 8 (NationPress) Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday claimed that there has been a significant rise in crimes against women in Telangana under the Congress administration.

He also criticized Congress leaders for their misleading assertions that their government has fulfilled promises made to women.

The BJP leader responded to the statement made by Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate, who claimed that the Telangana government is providing Rs 2,500 monthly to 90 lakh women.

"AICC is filled with false information disseminators. Women in Telangana have not received even one rupee from the Congress government. Instead of empowering women, they are oppressing them - demolishing homes, targeting vegetable vendors, and forcing pregnant women onto the streets. This is not governance; it is organized cruelty against women," Bandi Sanjay posted on the social media platform 'X'.

The Central minister alleged that under Congress' one-year "disastrous" rule in Telangana, cases of rape increased by 28.94 percent.

"The number of women's murders rose by 13 percent - their blood is on Congress' hands. Cases of kidnappings and abductions surged by 26 percent - where is the safety they promised? Incidents of outraging women's modesty increased by 8 percent - even basic dignity is under attack. Over 10,000 women faced harassment in public spaces during Congress' rule. Is this their vision of 'empowerment'?" he questioned.

"Congress has transformed into a party of predators, destroyers, and liars. Women in Telangana deserve respect, safety, and support - not tears, fear, and betrayal. This is the grim reality of Congress. They deserve nothing but the public's outrage," added Bandi Sanjay, who represents Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency.

The MoS previously condemned the assault on the state BJP office in Hyderabad by Congress supporters on Tuesday during a protest concerning BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri's remarks about Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.

"Congress thugs, do not dare touch the BJP office! If BJP workers decide to take action, we can dismantle the very foundations of your Congress party office. I strongly condemn the cowardly attack by Congress thugs on the BJP State office in Nampally," he stated.

"Our office is a sanctuary where women and others work diligently - what if they were harmed? We will not be intimidated by Congress rowdiness and demand the immediate arrest of the thugs responsible," he concluded.
