Bengaluru, May 7 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has criticized the Congress party for sharing a peace message amid the launch of 'Operation Sindoor', raising concerns about the Congress's allegiance between India and Pakistan.
BJP state President B.Y. Vijayendra addressed reporters in Bengaluru, stating, “At this critical moment, the Karnataka Congress shared on social media that ‘Peace is the strongest weapon of humankind’, attributing the quote to Mahatma Gandhi. They should feel embarrassed. I urge Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, to clarify their position.”
“They need to shed light on the reasoning behind this post. Are they aligning with India, or do they support terrorists and Pakistan?” he challenged.
He underscored that such remarks during this sensitive period do not reflect well on the Congress party. “They should promptly apologize to the citizens of our nation,” he insisted.
On the subject of 'Operation Sindoor', Vijayendra referenced the tragic killing of 26 individuals in the Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir. “The entire nation was outraged by this event. Every Indian felt that this atrocity should be avenged. The public sentiment was clear that terrorist groups and Pakistan must be held accountable,” he remarked.
He reiterated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured the nation that the terror attack would not go unanswered and that terrorists would face justice.
“Overnight strikes were executed in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK). The strikes targeted specific locations, including known hideouts. Every Indian today feels a sense of pride and happiness regarding the decisive actions taken by the Indian armed forces,” he said.
“Now is the time for us to rally behind our brave soldiers and armed forces. I particularly encourage BJP workers and the people of Karnataka to offer special prayers in temples. We must uplift our soldiers' spirits,” Vijayendra emphasized.
He also noted that the BJP has initiated the final phase of the Janakrosh Yatra in the state. “Today, we will hold the yatra in Kolar, with plans for Tumakuru and other cities later. However, in light of the current tensions between India and Pakistan, we must all unite as one. Therefore, we will conduct only the Kolar event today and postpone other Janakrosh Yatra activities,” he explained.
In response to an inquiry, Vijayendra stated, “Kashmir has seen the tragic loss of Hindu lives, and our armed forces have also endured significant losses. Every Indian has long wished for Pakistan to be taught a lesson, even if it leads to war.”
“This process has now commenced. Every Indian recognizes the importance of unity. The mock drills starting across the nation today will receive full public support — there is no doubt about that,” he concluded.
