New Delhi, June 4 (NationPress) Congress MP Imran Masood expressed his support for Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, regarding his provocative remark directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi: "Narendra, surrender." Masood claimed that if the government had not interrupted Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army would have successfully reclaimed Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
At a Congress event in Bhopal, Gandhi accused Prime Minister Modi of yielding to the United States during the presidency of Donald Trump.
He suggested that this submission aligns with a historical pattern, charging the BJP and RSS with succumbing to external pressures.
Gandhi stated, "As soon as Trump signaled, Modi picked up the phone and followed his orders. Narendra... Surrender, and Modi obeyed Trump's directions."
Masood supported Gandhi's statements, telling IANS, "What wrong has Rahul said? Has he ever spoken erroneously? He spoke the truth. Just recall 1971, when a nation divided into two (referring to Bangladesh's liberation from Pakistan). This time, if we had taken command of PoK, it would have been accomplished—but they (the government) halted it. Our Army is full of courage and valor."
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari also voiced his endorsement for Rahul Gandhi, criticizing the Modi administration for its inability to counter Trump's assertions that he brokered a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan.
Tiwari stated, "Rahul Gandhi launched a truth arrow that hit the BJP's guilt, causing them distress. The BJP appears mentally unhinged now, resorting to abusive, unparliamentary language—only someone disturbed would speak this way. What Rahul Gandhi articulated is absolutely correct."
Tiwari added, "Trump has made such claims multiple times. PM Modi should have publicly refuted them at least once, yet he remained silent. If PM Modi has the courage, he should stand before Indira Gandhi's portrait and declare that Trump did not request India's surrender. We desire a strong Prime Minister."
Gandhi also addressed internal conflicts within his party, claiming that some Congress members were supporting the BJP and that the "lame horses" in the party would soon retire.
Commenting on this matter, Masood remarked to IANS, "This relates to party leadership. I cannot comment on this. Only Rahul Gandhi can address who is right or wrong."
He added, "To engage in warfare, you require strong leaders—like Chetak-type horses. But such leaders are being overlooked. Are they now being sought? What type of preparation is this? This is an exercise in organizational restructuring, and it will continue in that direction."
