New Delhi, April 6 (NationPress) A 75-day countdown to the International Day of Yoga (IDY) will commence in Odisha, with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga hosting the grand Yoga Mahotsav 2025 on Monday.
This event aligns with World Health Day on April 7 and will showcase a spectacular Common Yoga Protocol demonstration from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, as an official announced on Sunday.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, along with Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida, will also be present at the event.
Joint Secretary of Ayush, Monalisa Dash, shared details regarding the advantages of practicing the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), which will be a key focus during the 75-day Countdown to the IDY.
The CYP serves as the cornerstone of the International Day of Yoga and is accessible in 22 different languages.
Last year, a Braille edition of the CYP was introduced, promoting inclusivity.
Over 24 crore people have engaged directly in the IDY to date.
"Every year, the number of participants grows, with new records being established. We anticipate achieving another milestone in participation this year," said Dash.
The 75-day countdown is a significant event in the annual observance of the IDY.
The Ministry aims to ignite a ‘Mass Movement for Health and Wellbeing’ through Yoga in the lead-up to IDY-2025.
Milestones on the 50th and 25th days will also be celebrated, according to a statement.
The Ministry of Ayush, serving as the central coordinating body for IDY, has played a vital role in transforming the celebration into a worldwide movement. Over the past decade, it has initiated numerous projects and collaborations to enhance the reach and impact of Yoga globally.
