The Minister expressed the Government’s vision to make this year's yoga celebrations remarkable and impactful on a global scale.
“We are committed to ensuring that International Day of Yoga 2025 is not only a resounding success but also serves as a beacon of inspiration for the world,” said the Union Minister of Ayush.
He urged all stakeholders to engage with renewed enthusiasm, emphasizing the theme of this year: ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’. This theme underscores yoga's significance in promoting physical, mental, and environmental well-being, resonating with global sustainability efforts.
“Let’s disseminate the message of holistic well-being through yoga to every corner of the nation and the world,” he added.
The review meeting centered on the execution of key initiatives such as yoga sangam, which integrates yoga with schools, hospitals, and corporations; harit yoga, promoting eco-awareness through plant drives linked to yoga; yoga connect, which involves global and diaspora communities in yoga festivities; and yoga bandhan, which aims to foster social unity and collective wellness through mass participation.
Jadhav highlighted the necessity of involving youth, educational institutions, and community leaders to enhance the outreach and engagement of IDY 2025.
International Day of Yoga, observed annually on June 21, has evolved into a global cultural and wellness initiative since its establishment by the United Nations in 2015, following India's proposal in 2014.
