New Delhi, May 20 (NationPress) The Ministry of Ayush has extended an invitation to citizens, institutions, and communities to participate in the groundbreaking Yoga Sangam, in anticipation of the forthcoming International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025.
So far, over 1,000 organizations have submitted their proposals under the flagship Yoga Sangam initiative, paving the way for what is anticipated to be India’s largest wellness celebration on June 21, 2025.
The participating entities encompass a wide range of organizations and institutions, including schools, colleges, corporates, NGOs, Resident Welfare Associations, government departments, and grassroots community groups from all 28 States and 7 Union Territories, as reported by the Ministry.
These groups have committed to organizing yoga demonstrations in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) — bringing the nation together in spirit, breath, and movement, stated the Ayush Ministry.
“By hosting local yoga sessions, they can emerge as wellness leaders within their communities,” it further added.
This year marks the tenth anniversary since the United Nations officially recognized the International Day of Yoga in 2015.
As the country commemorates a decade of global leadership in wellness, the theme for 2025, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” holds greater significance than ever.
“From the majestic Himalayas to the southern tip of Kanyakumari, and from serene parks to lively schoolyards and office lawns, over one lakh locations are expected to transform into vibrant hubs of wellness and unity on June 21,” mentioned the Ministry.
“Yoga Sangam is more than just an event — it is a national wellness movement promoting harmony within ourselves and our surroundings,” it continued.
To get involved, citizens can visit the Ayush Ministry’s website and register as a group or organization.
After hosting the Yoga Sangam event on June 21, participants can upload their participation details to receive an official Certificate of Appreciation.
