Rajasthan is at the forefront of this initiative, with an impressive 1,38,033 organizations registered. Following closely are Andhra Pradesh with 1,38,033, Uttar Pradesh with 1,01,767, and Madhya Pradesh at 26,159. Other notable states include Gujarat with 19,951 and Himachal Pradesh with 12,000.
This increase in involvement underscores the growing enthusiasm surrounding this year’s theme—‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, which connects yoga practices to global sustainability and individual wellness.
Marking a significant achievement in promoting comprehensive health and wellness, the Yoga Sangam event is scheduled for June 21 from 6:30 am to 7:45 am.
A synchronized yoga demonstration will occur simultaneously at numerous locations nationwide.
The most prominent highlight of this nationwide initiative will be in Visakhapatnam, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join over 5 lakh yoga practitioners for a collective yoga session.
IDY celebrations will span from the snow-covered peaks of Ladakh to the sunlit shores of Kerala, encompassing school playgrounds, office lawns, railway stations, and historic temple courtyards.
Institutions across various sectors, including IITs, IIMs, grassroots NGOs, and major corporations, are answering the call to participate.
The Ministry emphasized that these events will be monitored online through a feature on the yoga portal, allowing interested organizations to submit their proposals for hosting an IDY event.
To engage, citizens are encouraged to visit the Ayush Ministry’s website and register as a group or organization. After conducting the Yoga Sangam event on June 21, participants can upload their details to receive an official Certificate of Appreciation.
“Let us unite through yoga—for health, harmony, and a better tomorrow,” the Ministry stated.
