Patna, May 5 (NationPress) The CPI-M urged all political entities to refrain from politicizing the Pahalgam terror incident, calling for leaders to avoid making negative remarks about the assault.
"National unity is essential rather than political grandstanding. The entire nation is united in response to the recent events in Pahalgam. Following the CCS meeting, the Prime Minister has empowered the army to make decisions. Everyone needs to exercise caution in their words. There should be no political maneuvering on this matter," stated CPI-M General Secretary M.A. Baby during a press briefing.
He also convened a session with state leaders at the party headquarters to outline initial strategies for the upcoming elections.
Furthermore, Baby accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of engaging in "opportunistic politics" within the state. "Nitish Kumar is a practitioner of opportunism. His decisions are driven by personal gain rather than ideology," he remarked.
Expressing confidence in the INDIA Bloc ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections, Baby emphasized that the coalition is cohesive and actively collaborating.
"Frequent meetings among the senior leaders of the INDIA Bloc demonstrate our solidarity. We are prepared to contest the elections vigorously and establish the next government in Bihar," he asserted.
Regarding the caste census, Baby expressed doubts about the government's readiness.
"Uncertainties persist regarding the timing and methodology of the caste census. The Central government has yet to provide clear information," he stated.
He reiterated the CPI-M's dedication to labour rights, emphasizing the upcoming Bharat Bandh on May 20, organized by Left parties.
"This bandh will prioritize workers' rights and is expected to succeed as all members of the Grand Alliance have committed their support," he concluded.
