Patna, May 5 (NationPress) The CPI(M) urged all political factions on Monday to abstain from exploiting the recent Pahalgam terror attack for political gain, advising leaders to avoid making any negative remarks regarding the incident.
“At this moment, we must prioritize national unity over political discourse. The nation stands united in response to the events in Pahalgam. Following the CCS meeting, the Prime Minister empowered the military with decision-making authority. It is crucial for everyone to communicate with caution. This is not a time for political maneuvering,” stated CPI(M) General Secretary M A Baby during his visit to Patna.
Additionally, he presided over a gathering with local leaders at the party office to outline preliminary electoral strategies.
General Secretary Baby further criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for engaging in “opportunistic politics” within the state. “Nitish Kumar exemplifies opportunism, making decisions driven by personal benefit rather than ideology,” asserted the seasoned CPI(M) leader.
With confidence in the INDIA Bloc ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections, Baby emphasized that the coalition remains cohesive and actively collaborating.
“Frequent meetings among senior leaders of the INDIA Bloc signify our unity. We are prepared to contest the elections vigorously and establish the next government in Bihar,” he confidently proclaimed.
Regarding the caste census, Baby expressed doubts about the government’s readiness, stating, “Uncertainties persist about the timing and method of conducting the caste census. No explicit information has been shared by the Central government thus far.”
He also reiterated CPI(M)’s dedication to labor rights, announcing the upcoming Bharat Bandh on May 20, organized by the Left parties.
“The bandh will center on workers’ rights, and its success is assured as all constituents of the Grand Alliance have committed their support,” he emphasized.
