Chennai, Jan 16 (NationPress) The notorious criminal 'Bomb' Saravanan was apprehended following a swift encounter with law enforcement in Chennai on Thursday.
As per police reports, when ordered to halt, Saravanan launched an attack on a Sub-Inspector, prompting a defensive response.
Saravanan, who sustained a bullet injury, was taken into custody and transported to Government Stanley Medical College Hospital for medical care.
Identified as an A-category rowdy, he has 33 criminal cases against him, which include six murder indictments.
The suspect's spouse, Mahalakshmi, who is a lawyer, contended that Saravanan is being falsely accused.
She asserted that no legitimate case has been lodged against him in the last 15 years, claiming only arrest warrants based on fabricated allegations exist.
Mahalakshmi mentioned that Saravanan was detained in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, a day prior, and accused the police of unlawfully holding him without presenting him before a magistrate within the legally mandated 24 hours.
