Dausa (Rajasthan), Aug 13 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed profound sorrow on Wednesday following a tragic truck-container collision in Dausa that claimed the lives of 11 individuals, including women and children.
The crash, which occurred around 3:30 a.m., involved a pickup truck carrying over 22 devotees and a container near Bapi village. Unfortunately, the accident resulted in injuries to over half a dozen others.
The fatalities included three women and seven children.
In a statement on X, CM Bhajanlal remarked, "The news of the tragic loss of life in a dreadful road accident in Dausa is heartbreaking. The district administration has been instructed to ensure immediate and adequate medical care for the injured."
He further added, "May God grant eternal peace to the departed souls and facilitate swift recovery for the injured."
Initial police reports indicate that the container truck collided with the pickup truck from behind with significant force, resulting in the instantaneous deaths of 10 people.
Upon notification, police rushed to the scene and transported the injured to a local hospital, where another woman succumbed to her injuries, increasing the death toll to 11.
The deceased individuals hailed from Etah district in Uttar Pradesh, returning from visits to the Khatu Shyam and Salasar Balaji Temple at the time of the accident, which occurred within the jurisdiction of the Sainthal police station.
Nearby residents, alerted by the noise of the impact, promptly responded to assist, contacting emergency services.
Police quickly arrived at the location, ensuring all injured were transferred to the trauma unit of the district hospital. Due to the severity of injuries, additional medical personnel were summoned.
District Collector Devendra Kumar and Superintendent of Police Sagar Rana were on-site and at the hospital to ascertain details regarding the incident.
The victims have been identified as Poorvi (3), Priyanka (25), Daksh (12), Sheela (35), Seema (25), Anshu (26), and Saurabh (35).
The identities of four additional victims remain unconfirmed.
Several injured passengers are currently receiving treatment at Dausa District Hospital, while those in critical condition have been transferred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur for advanced treatment.
