New Delhi, Aug 13 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu expressed profound sorrow over the devastating road accident that occurred in Dausa, Rajasthan, resulting in the loss of 11 lives, including women and children.
During the tragic incident, which transpired around 3:30 a.m., a pickup truck collided with a container near Bapi village. The pickup was transporting over 22 devotees at the time.
Reports indicate that the deceased comprised four women and seven children.
In a message posted on X, President Murmu stated, "The news of the loss of numerous lives, including women and children, in a road accident in Dausa, Rajasthan, is extremely heartbreaking. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and pray for the swift recovery of those who were injured in this tragic event."
Preliminary investigations by law enforcement revealed that the container truck struck the pickup truck with significant force, leading to the instantaneous deaths of 10 individuals.
Upon notification of the incident, police swiftly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to a nearby hospital, where another woman succumbed to her injuries, increasing the death toll to 11.
