Dausa (Rajasthan), Aug 13 (NationPress) In a tragic accident, eleven individuals, including women and children, lost their lives while more than half a dozen sustained injuries when a pickup truck collided with a container close to Bapi village in Rajasthan's Dausa on Wednesday.
Reports indicate that among the deceased are three women and seven children.
Initial findings suggest that the vehicle crashed into a container truck, leading to the immediate demise of ten people.
Upon notification of the incident, local police rushed to the scene and transported the injured to a nearby hospital, where another woman succumbed to her injuries, increasing the death toll to 11.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for autopsy.
All were from Uttar Pradesh and were returning after visiting the Khatu Shyam and Salasar Balaji Temple when the accident occurred in the Sainthal police station jurisdiction.
Upon hearing the crash, nearby residents came to assist, alerting police and ambulance services.
After receiving the report, law enforcement arrived promptly at the scene, and all injured parties were transferred to the trauma unit of the district hospital. Due to the severity of the injuries, additional medical personnel were summoned.
District Collector Devendra Kumar and Superintendent of Police Sagar Rana also visited the site and the hospital to gather information about the incident.
According to preliminary details, all deceased individuals hailed from Etah district of Uttar Pradesh.
Investigations are currently in progress as further information is anticipated.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep sorrow over the event, stating, "The news of the loss of lives in this horrific road accident in Dausa is incredibly tragic. The district administration has been instructed to ensure swift and adequate treatment for the injured."
