Day 3 of Hunger Strike: Prashant Kishor's Health Remains Steady

Patna, Jan 5 (NationPress) The health status of Prashant Kishor, the mastermind behind the Jan Suraj Abhiyan, is currently stable. He has been on a hunger strike for more than 48 hours to support students protesting alleged discrepancies in the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Preliminary examination.

Although his extended fasting has prompted concerns regarding his health, a medical team led by Patna-based physician Avinash Kumar has confirmed that Kishor's condition remains stable, exhibiting only mild symptoms of bronchitis and dehydration.

After a comprehensive evaluation, Avinash Kumar informed the press that Kishor is facing dehydration and has been instructed to consume two to three liters of water daily.

Moreover, the medical team has recommended additional precautions to avert further health issues due to the ongoing cold weather.

Kishor is also experiencing mild dehydration and a slight sore throat, for which he has been counseled to gargle regularly. Despite these minor ailments, Kishor's overall health is stable at this time,” stated Avinash Kumar.

Kishor's hunger strike forms part of a broader initiative to bring attention to and seek solutions for the alleged irregularities in the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination, a situation that has incited widespread protests across Bihar.

The agitation by BPSC candidates regarding supposed paper leaks and irregularities in the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination has now reached its 18th day, with no resolution in sight.

This prolonged protest has gained traction from various groups, especially after Prashant Kishor, the Jan Suraj Party Chief, joined the movement in a show of solidarity, further amplifying its visibility and momentum.

Kishor continues his hunger strike at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, enduring the severe cold and challenging conditions.

The students are demanding the cancellation of the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination, claiming that irregularities and paper leaks were not confined to a single examination center but occurred at multiple locations.

Meanwhile, the BPSC conducted a re-examination at 22 locations on Saturday, which concluded without incident.
