Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, April 8 (NationPress) The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) celebrates its 11th anniversary today, having empowered numerous small entrepreneurs to turn their aspirations into reality. Countless success stories have been recorded, with beneficiaries crediting this flagship initiative for igniting their entrepreneurial drive.
A notable example is Deepak Kumar, hailing from Pakrar in the Katkamdag block of Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand. He capitalized on this scheme to substantially grow his modest business.
In 2018, he obtained a loan of ₹5 lakh through this initiative. Initially, he operated a small shop, but through diligence and determination, he emerged as the successful owner of multiple retail outlets in the area. His establishment, 'Poonam Dhaga-Button' (Poonam Thread & Button), has carved out a trusted reputation in the community.
Deepak attributes his achievements to the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the welfare policies aimed at uplifting small traders.
He secured his loan from the Bank of India and repaid it in full within the designated period. He expressed that the requirement for collateral has often been a major barrier for small entrepreneurs, but the Mudra scheme has effectively removed this challenge.
In an interview with IANS, he noted that his shop now offers a wide array of tailoring and stitching supplies. Previously, limited inventory often resulted in dissatisfied customers; however, post-loan, he has been able to enhance his stock and broaden his business.
Similarly, Ashok Prasad, a dealer in kitchenware and utensils, also took advantage of this scheme to grow his business. He mentioned that his trade was previously hampered by inadequate capital, but the funds acquired through the Mudra Scheme enabled him to expand his store and acquire new products.
Ashok expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, highlighting the immense benefits such schemes provide to small traders.
Rajni Devi, who operates a shop for worship materials, shared her positive experiences with the Mudra scheme. She remarked that her business was stagnant due to a lack of funds; however, after receiving a Mudra loan, she successfully expanded her shop, leading to rapid business growth.
She added that her family has overcome financial difficulties and encourages others to take advantage of the scheme's opportunities.
