New Delhi, April 26 (NationPress) In light of the subdued governmental activities following the Pahalgam incident, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta instructed officials on Saturday to initiate development projects without awaiting her formal inauguration.
“The progress of Delhi will not be hindered. Delivering public service and advancing the state will serve as our genuine homage to the martyrs. We are resolute in our stance against terrorism and will continue to strive towards creating a secure and prosperous future for our citizens,” CM Gupta asserted during an event.
“We are deeply saddened and shaken by the loss of life. I find no joy in being adorned with garlands, receiving floral tributes, or engaging in the formalities of inaugurating projects. We will commence work directly,” CM Gupta expressed.
“I have instructed officials to initiate projects immediately after they receive approval, without waiting for a formal launch by me,” CM Gupta stated.
“For me, officials are paramount. They will handle the inaugurations and execute the work, without waiting for a formal endorsement from me,” she added.
The Chief Minister’s distress is associated with the national mourning over the deaths of 26 individuals due to attacks from Pakistan-backed terrorists on April 22 in Pahalgam.
Previously this week, the Delhi government rescheduled the launch of 330 electric buses in respect for the national mourning following the passing of Pope Francis.
CM Gupta announced on Tuesday that a new launch date for the initiative under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector (DEVI) scheme would be revealed soon.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, CM Gupta declared, “Due to the national mourning declared by the Government of India on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, the launch of electric buses under the DEVI scheme has been postponed. The new date will be communicated shortly.”
The introduction of the new fleet of nine-meter green mini-buses was intended to be a significant advancement in transforming the public transportation system of the national capital and combating pollution.
