New Delhi, April 19 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday indicated consistent advancement in her administration’s initiatives to enhance doorstep medical services by improving current clinics and launching new ones to establish 1,139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
“Through the PM-ABHIM scheme, the Centre has provided us funding to construct 1,139 Arogya Mandirs in Delhi, aimed at delivering treatment facilities to every resident of the city,” CM Gupta stated at an event commemorating World Liver Day.
She further emphasized her government’s dedication to providing healthcare services to the populace.
“No individual, whether from marginalized communities or affluent backgrounds, should be compelled to seek healthcare in a difficult manner,” asserted CM Rekha.
“It is our duty to ensure a robust health infrastructure in both the country and Delhi,” she remarked, noting that the Capital caters to medical needs of individuals from all over the nation.
We are aware of our obligation to bolster health infrastructure, enhance our hospitals, and upgrade the necessary technology for the people, she stated.
She commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for facilitating the rollout of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) health insurance initiative in Delhi.
“This is not merely an insurance scheme; it is an assurance scheme,” declared the CM, pledging that the assistance from the Central government is being utilized to better serve the populace.
She reiterated her commitment to organ donation and mentioned that her government would soon initiate an awareness campaign.
In the 2025-26 Budget presented on March 25, CM Gupta allocated Rs 320 crore for the expansion of Health and Wellness Centres (HWC)/Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) to enhance primary healthcare facilities with the establishment of 400 HWC/AAM. These will represent a new iteration of the previous administration’s ‘Mohalla Clinic’ initiative.
Furthermore, an additional Rs 2,144 crore was designated for the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana health insurance, along with Rs 1666.66 crore proposed for the PM-ABHIM scheme, which will strengthen critical care blocks and diagnostics.
