Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 13 (NationPress) - On Friday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta spearheaded a significant initiative by inaugurating 51 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs throughout the city, which elevates the total count of these local health centers to 370 in just one year.
During an event in the Chhatarpur constituency, Gupta criticized the previous Congress and Aam Aadmi Party governments, which had been in power for lengthy periods without adequately addressing public concerns.
“They came and left without fulfilling the needs of the people, but since the electorate placed their trust in the BJP, Delhi is witnessing a resurgence in development,” she stated.
In a social media post, she mentioned, “To further the vision of a developed Delhi, I inaugurated development projects worth over Rs 322 crore for the Viksit Chhatarpur Assembly.”
Gupta elaborated, “Chhatarpur's significance is deeply rooted in Delhi's historical narrative. Every corner of this area reflects Delhi's evolution. However, for many years, prior administrations hindered progress here. In just a year, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, we have reintegrated Chhatarpur into the development framework.
Today's inaugurated projects will focus on extensive road repairs, drain enhancements, school upgrades, traffic management, and improvement of fundamental infrastructure,” she added.
She assured that this development would simplify life for residents and connect the region to new opportunities, emphasizing its importance during an event attended by MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar, and MCD South Zone Chairman Umed Singh Fogaat.
Furthermore, Pankaj Kumar Singh, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, noted that since the BJP administration began establishing Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, over 14 lakh citizens have received healthcare.
While inaugurating a new center at Madipur, part of the 51 recently launched across the capital, he stated that the total number of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs has now reached 370.
The long-term goal is to create more than 1,100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Delhi, ensuring every neighborhood has access to strong and sustainable primary healthcare infrastructure, he remarked.
Singh emphasized that the Ayushman Arogya Mandir initiative embodies a transformative vision aimed at making quality healthcare accessible to local communities.
He stressed that the aim is to ensure that mothers, seniors, and families no longer need to travel long distances for basic healthcare, as essential services will now be available in their neighborhoods.
The Minister highlighted the centers' offerings of free doctor consultations, essential medications, and over 100 diagnostic tests, alongside screening for diabetes, hypertension, cancer, maternal and child health services, immunizations, and mental health support. These provisions alleviate pressure on major government hospitals, providing timely and preventative care.
Singh also revealed that Integrated Public Health Laboratories (IPHL) and Critical Care Blocks (CCB) are being developed in stages to enhance Delhi's public healthcare framework and establish a cohesive healthcare system from primary care to advanced treatment.
