New Delhi, Aug 21 (NationPress) Multiple schools in Delhi have once again been targeted with bomb threat emails, leading to significant evacuations of students and staff, according to authorities on Thursday.
Six institutions located in the Dwarka Sector 5 and Prasad Nagar regions received these alarming messages early in the morning.
Emergency teams from the Delhi Fire Service, police, bomb disposal units, and dog units quickly responded to the scene, evacuating all students and staff.
Initial investigations reveal that no suspicious items have been located thus far, and searches are ongoing.
The police are currently working to pinpoint the IP address of the email sender.
This disturbing situation has triggered fresh anxiety among students, parents, and school personnel.
This incident follows just a day after two schools in New Delhi—SKV Malviya Nagar and Andhra School, Prasad Nagar—were also recipients of bomb threat emails at approximately 7:40 a.m. and 7:42 a.m., respectively.
On August 18, Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka had to evacuate its premises due to a bomb threat call received around 7:00 a.m. Authorities acted swiftly, and bomb squads conducted a comprehensive search.
Fortunately, that threat was later confirmed to be a hoax.
This latest scare also rekindles unsettling memories from last month when over 50 schools throughout Delhi received similar bomb threat emails.
These messages incited significant panic, forcing many schools to transition to online classes and triggering emergency responses citywide, including the deployment of dog units, fire brigades, and bomb disposal teams. All of those threats were ultimately deemed uncredible.
During that troubling episode, the Delhi Police executed immediate searches across all affected schools. Dog units, bomb disposal crews, and fire service personnel were activated throughout the city to ensure safety.
Among the schools that reported receiving such threats were Abhinav Public School in Rohini Sector 3 and Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, both of which received emails warning of explosive devices on their grounds, causing alarm among parents and staff.
Similar threats had also emerged earlier in July at St Stephen's College and St Thomas School in Dwarka, merely a day after three other schools in the capital had received identical hoax emails.
On July 17, at least seven schools were implicated in what became the third consecutive day of these unsettling incidents.
While all previous alerts turned out to be false alarms, the recurrence of these threats has intensified worries among parents, students, and educational authorities.
