New Delhi, Aug 18 (NationPress) Multiple schools in Delhi were the targets of bomb threat emails on Sunday, prompting the evacuation of both staff and students as a safety precaution.
The institutions affected include Delhi Public School, Modern Convent School, Shree Ram World School, and Dwarka International School, all situated in various locations throughout Dwarka, Delhi.
Emergency teams from the Delhi Fire Service, police, bomb disposal units, and canine squads quickly arrived on-site, ensuring a swift evacuation of students and personnel.
Authorities are currently attempting to trace the IP address linked to the emails threatening the schools.
This alarming incident has reignited fears reminiscent of last month when over 50 schools in New Delhi experienced similar bomb threats, which were ultimately determined to be hoaxes.
In response, the Opposition criticized the BJP's 'four-engine' government for the escalating safety and security issues in the national capital.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his concerns on X, stating, "Today, Delhi Public School, Dwarka, alongside several other schools in the area received bomb threats once again. Threats to Delhi's schools are becoming a frequent occurrence, yet no suspects have been apprehended and no actions taken against these serious threats."
In his criticism of the ruling party, he added, "The BJP is failing to manage Delhi, and the law and order situation continues to deteriorate. Their four-engine government has completely let the citizens down."
The Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, also condemned the BJP government, declaring, "The series of threats targeting schools is unrelenting. Once more, Delhi's educational institutions are facing threats of bombings. What is the Delhi Police doing in response? Parents and children are living in fear, yet the BJP's four-engine government fails to ensure their safety."
