Sisodia Critiques Central Government Over Deteriorating Law and Order in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) Manish Sisodia, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, has publicly denounced the BJP-led central government for its failure to address the deteriorating law and order situation in the national capital.

This criticism follows alarming reports that over 40 schools, including DPS RK Puram and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar, received bomb threats via email. These threats resulted in the evacuation of students and staff, raising serious concerns regarding the safety of educational institutions in the city.

The situation disrupted routine morning activities, with school buses arriving, parents dropping off their children, and staff preparing for the day. As a precautionary measure, authorities sent students home while investigations are currently underway.

In response to this unsettling situation, the former Deputy Chief Minister expressed profound concern about safety in Delhi.

"Ever since the bomb threats targeting 40 schools in Delhi emerged, we are all deeply shaken. Such incidents of bomb threats are occurring regularly in our schools," he informed IANS.

He detailed a series of troubling security events, including a bomb explosion near a school in Rohini, threats of flight hijacking, extortion attempts against businessmen, and incidents of open firing.

"Criminals are wandering the streets with pistols and firing shots. I have never witnessed such an atmosphere of terror in Delhi," Sisodia remarked.

Describing the pervasive fear among residents, he stated, "The average citizen in Delhi feels threatened. Businessmen are being targeted. Individuals out for their morning walks worry they may not return home safely. And now, even our children are at risk. Just think about what parents must be feeling when they hear about bomb threats at schools."

He accused the BJP-led central government of negligence, asserting, "Amit Shah seems unconcerned, the Prime Minister appears indifferent, and the BJP is resting easy. Ask the parents of students currently in school if they feel safe about law and order in Delhi."

"We demand that the situation in Delhi be addressed immediately. Such a climate of fear has never been witnessed as it is now under Amit Shah's leadership as Home Minister," he emphasized.

He called on the government to take swift action to remedy the situation, adding, "Fix this atmosphere."

This incident is not isolated; in October, a bomb exploded outside a CRPF school in Rohini's Prashant Vihar, causing damage to the school wall, adjacent shops, and vehicles. The next day, another email threatened bomb blasts at all CRPF schools, later confirmed to be a hoax.

The surge in bomb threats targeting schools, hospitals, and airports nationwide has sparked significant concern about the effectiveness of existing security measures.
