Kejriwal Reaches Out to HM Shah Regarding Urgent Law and Order Concerns

New Delhi, Dec 14 (NationPress) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener and former Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, has raised serious alarms regarding the worsening law and order scenario in the national capital. In a correspondence directed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Kejriwal requested an immediate meeting to address the surging crime rates in the city.
Kejriwal pointed out that although Delhi’s law and order falls under the Central Government's jurisdiction, the city has earned the infamous title of the “crime capital” of India.
He underscored disturbing statistics, noting that among India’s 19 metropolitan areas, Delhi ranks highest in both crimes against women and homicide.
“Extortion gangs are thriving in Delhi, operating brazenly and running their ransom operations without any trepidation. Our airports and educational institutions are facing bomb threats via emails and phone calls, instigating panic and jeopardizing public safety. Moreover, incidents related to drug crimes have surged by an alarming 350 percent,” former Chief Minister Kejriwal stated in his letter to the Union Home Minister.
“Delhi is now recognized as the crime capital both nationally and internationally,” Kejriwal added.
The AAP leader expressed profound worry for the safety of Delhi's inhabitants, calling for prompt and effective measures to curb the escalating crime wave.
“I am deeply concerned about the safety of every Delhiite. Immediate action is crucial,” Kejriwal emphasized.
The AAP has been vocal in criticizing the Union government’s management of Delhi’s law and order situation. Recently, Kejriwal and his party leaders have ramped up their campaign, holding the BJP and the Union Home Ministry responsible for the city’s deteriorating crime statistics.
During public gatherings such as padyatras, community meetings, and direct engagements with citizens, Kejriwal has consistently voiced his concerns. “Delhi is being labeled as the crime capital both in India and abroad. This situation is intolerable,” he remarked during one of his addresses.
Kejriwal’s appeal to the Union Home Minister comes amid rising pressure on the central government to tackle public safety in Delhi. With increasing instances of violence, extortion, and organized crime, citizens are demanding swift actions to restore peace and security in the city.
