Kejriwal Critiques Amit Shah's Inaction on Rising Crime Rates in Delhi Following Recent Murders

New Delhi, Dec 7 (NationPress) Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticized the apparent inaction of Union Home Minister Amit Shah concerning the recent rise in crime in the national Capital, asserting that the responsibility for the safety of Delhi residents lies with him.
Kejriwal's pointed remarks towards the Centre followed the occurrence of two murders that shook the city on Saturday.
In a special discussion with IANS, the former Chief Minister stated that the maintenance of law and order in the city is the Home Minister's responsibility, and his silence raises numerous questions.
“Just as I am accountable for the education and health of Delhi, he is responsible for law and order. Why is Amit Shah silent? Why hasn’t he addressed the public regarding the daily crime incidents happening in the city?”
“He should inform the citizens about the measures being taken to rectify the situation,” asserted the AAP National Convenor.
Kejriwal's criticism of the Centre came on the heels of two murders in the city on Saturday—a trader's murder in Shahdara and a fatal stabbing during a dispute in the Govindpuri area.
In Shahdara, a local businessman was shot at by assailants on a motorcycle while returning home on a scooter after completing his morning workout.
Police reports indicate that 7-8 shots were fired at the 52-year-old utensil trader, with at least 3-4 bullets striking him during the random shooting.
In another violent incident in the city, a Govindpuri resident named Sudheer was killed, while two others sustained injuries over a disagreement regarding the cleanliness of shared toilets.
Sudheer succumbed to his stab wounds, while his brother Prem and friend Sagar are currently receiving treatment at AIIMS.
Previously, Kejriwal took to X to accuse the Centre of destroying Delhi.
"Amit Shah has devastated Delhi. He has transformed the national Capital into a region of chaos. People are living in a state of fear everywhere. The BJP can no longer manage the law and order situation in Delhi. The residents of Delhi must unite and voice their concerns," he wrote on X.
