Sisodia Criticizes Central Government for Law and Order Crisis in Delhi; Condemns Bidhuri's Statements

New Delhi, Jan 6 (NationPress) Senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, delivered a scathing attack on the Central government regarding the troubling law and order conditions in the national capital.
Sisodia compared the Centre's obligations with its actions, highlighting that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi encourages residents of Delhi to vote for the BJP, his administration has failed in its fundamental duty - ensuring the safety of the city.
In light of the recent shooting incident in Sangam Vihar on Sunday night, attributed to gang conflicts, Sisodia emphasized the worsening law and order situation in Delhi.
"The frequency of gang-related violence is surging in the national capital. Almost daily, gunfire is heard openly. In the Sangam Vihar incident last night, shots were fired for an hour, resulting in two individuals sustaining critical injuries and three others hurt," he remarked.
He accused the BJP-led Union government of neglecting the security of Delhi while simultaneously criticizing AAP's administration.
"The Prime Minister disparages Arvind Kejriwal before the people of Delhi, urging them to hand over governance to the BJP. I want to assert that the citizens of Delhi have already entrusted the Prime Minister, Amit Shah, and the BJP with the responsibility of maintaining law and order. However, the situation has deteriorated to the extent that news of gang conflicts and shootings has become commonplace. Yet, the Prime Minister still demands control over schools, hospitals, electricity, and water," Sisodia stated.
He contended that the residents of Delhi are well aware of the BJP's failure to manage law and order, leading to concerns about what could transpire if other responsibilities were assigned to the party.
"The law and order situation is already alarming. In the future, in collaboration with the citizens of Delhi, we will strive to make the city safe. The BJP has faltered in this regard. We have seen positive outcomes from initiatives like installing CCTV cameras, and we will implement more such measures to enhance security," he added.
Responding to the controversial comments made by BJP's Kalkaji candidate Ramesh Bidhuri regarding Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, Sisodia remarked, "It is evident that whatever Ramesh Bidhuri utters, he does so with the approval of his party's senior leaders. This exemplifies the BJP's character, where remarks about women, including female parliamentarians and Chief Ministers, are normalized and their dignity ridiculed publicly."
He called upon the Prime Minister to clarify whether he supports such disrespectful comments made by his party members.
Bidhuri stirred significant controversy with his statement that he would make the roads of the Delhi Assembly seat “as smooth as Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi's cheeks” along with his derogatory comment on the change of surname by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi from Marlena to Singh.
In relation to the CAG report on AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal's former official residence, dubbed 'Sheesh Mahal' by the BJP, Sisodia questioned the government's selective criticism.
"Is there any report regarding the Prime Minister's Rs 2,700 crore residence, the Rs 850 crore airplane, or the Rs 10 lakh suit?" he inquired.
Sisodia reiterated that the people of Delhi are closely monitoring the BJP's governance and remain dedicated to ensuring the city's safety and welfare through collaborative initiatives.
