AAP Dismisses BJP's Claims on 'Sheesh Mahal' as Groundless Propaganda

New Delhi, Dec 10 (NationPress) Leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have firmly dismissed the accusations from Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva regarding the previous official residence of Arvind Kejriwal during his tenure as Chief Minister, calling them groundless propaganda from the BJP.
Responding to the assertions made by the Delhi BJP chief about the residence, which is referred to as 'Sheesh Mahal' by the party, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia criticized the BJP, stating, "The BJP has nothing to show in terms of achievements."
"Rather than addressing pressing issues related to the mismanagement of funds for schools, mid-day meals, and hospitals in states like Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, they concentrate on Kejriwal's previous official residence. While the public is concerned about education and health reforms, they fixate on a bungalow," he added.
Sisodia further accused the BJP of diverting attention from critical matters, such as recent bomb threats affecting 40 schools in Delhi.
He called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah to provide clarity on the worsening law and order situation in the national capital.
AAP leader Praveen Kumar Deshmukh echoed these sentiments, labeling the BJP a 'party of propaganda.'
He remarked, "They consistently ignore issues like law and order or illegal encroachments by the DDA. Instead, they mislead the public with unfounded assertions. The electorate is observant, and they will respond in the forthcoming elections."
The Delhi BJP President shared a video on X that purportedly illustrates lavish enhancements, including high-end fittings and luxurious amenities, in Kejriwal's former official residence.
Sachdeva claimed that the expenditures on the 'Sheesh Mahal' could have significantly benefited common residents of Delhi. He alleged that the funds spent could have been used to provide 34 EWS Flats from the DDA, 15 LIG Flats, 150 CNG Autos, or 326 E-Rickshaws for the public.
Later, in an interview with IANS regarding the video, Sachdeva stated, "Corruption is the primary issue of this election. We will repeatedly assert that Arvind Kejriwal has exploited Delhi over the past 10 years."
Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia launched the AAP’s campaign from Jangpura, seeking blessings from Lord Hanuman and expressing trust in Kejriwal's leadership. "Jangpura has always backed the AAP, and under Kejriwal’s guidance, we will keep winning," he told IANS.
