Parvesh Verma Calls for Public Access to 'Sheesh Mahal' to Highlight Kejriwal's Extravagance (IANS Interview)

New Delhi, Dec 30 (NationPress) BJP leader and former MP Parvesh Verma has called for the public opening of 'Sheesh Mahal' to reveal how the AAP government has extravagantly spent taxpayer money on constructing an unparalleled residence for Arvind Kejriwal.
In an interview with IANS, Verma criticized the AAP national convenor for making deceptive promises to the citizens of Delhi, labeling it as a mere political maneuver.
He emphasized that if the BJP secures victory in the upcoming elections, the incoming Chief Minister should avoid residing in the 'Sheesh Mahal', which was built at the expense of Delhi's aspirations.
Verma also addressed the accusations made by AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh against the BJP concerning vote cancellations, the discord within the INDIA bloc, allegations from AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, and the matter of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
Excerpts from the interview:
IANS: How many seats will the BJP secure in Delhi this time? Will it be able to establish the government?
Parvesh Verma: Our party's survey indicates that the BJP will win 50 seats. Furthermore, we will undoubtedly form a government in Delhi.
IANS: Are you poised to challenge Arvind Kejriwal?
Parvesh Verma: Although the dates are yet to be announced, I am confident that with divine blessings and our workers' dedication, history will be made in February, leading to Arvind Kejriwal losing his security deposit in the elections.
IANS: If the BJP comes to power, will the Chief Minister occupy the official residence, referred to as 'Sheesh Mahal'?
Parvesh Verma: That decision rests with the party. However, I believe that if the BJP government is formed, the Chief Minister should not live in the 'Sheesh Mahal' since it was constructed by trampling the dreams of the people of Delhi.
I advocate for it to be opened to the public, showcasing how Arvind Kejriwal has squandered Rs 86 crore of public funds solely for the renovation of a government house for his comfort. No other Chief Minister globally has constructed such a residence.
IANS: AAP MP Sanjay Singh has claimed that the BJP is attempting to remove his wife's name from the voter list in Delhi. What is your response?
Parvesh Verma: Just a few days ago, I learned that Sanjay Singh submitted Form 6 multiple times to invalidate his own vote. His intention was to create a narrative suggesting that if his vote as a Rajya Sabha MP could be canceled, then the same could happen to ordinary citizens of Delhi.
However, I commend the administration for thoroughly investigating the cancellation process and confirming that Sanjay Singh is indeed a resident of Delhi. Thus, his vote was not canceled, dismantling their conspiracy.
He filed Form 6 on behalf of his wife to mislead the public into believing there was an attempt to cancel her vote.
IANS: Arvind Kejriwal is insistent on announcing financial aid for women. How do you plan to counter this?
Parvesh Verma: Three years ago, during the Punjab elections, they promised to deposit Rs 1000 into women's accounts. Women in Punjab check their accounts regularly, and not even a penny has been deposited. If they failed to fulfill their promises there, how can they be trusted here?
We have a successful program in Madhya Pradesh called the Ladli Yojana, which has been operational for two years, depositing Rs 1500 into women's accounts. We deliver on our commitments, and Madhya Pradesh is a testament to that. In contrast, AAP has not honored any promises.
Thus, the promise for Delhi is merely a political ploy. They do not intend to provide any financial assistance to women in Delhi; instead, they are engaging in significant cyber fraud. Women in Delhi are reporting unauthorized withdrawals from their accounts using their mobile numbers and OTPs. This constitutes a major fraud.
IANS: Does Arvind Kejriwal's party aim to oust Congress from the INDIA bloc? What is your take?
Parvesh Verma: Arvind Kejriwal is the same individual who, in 2012, criticized all the members currently part of the INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, and Lalu Yadav. He labeled them the most corrupt individuals, yet he has now allied with them.
This is a recurring behavior for Arvind Kejriwal. Initially, he insults others if his plans falter, and if he faces electoral defeat, he blames his alliance partners. Now, sensing his impending defeat in Delhi, he is preemptively creating a narrative by disparaging others.
IANS: Will Arvind Kejriwal face jail time again?
Parvesh Verma: Currently, Arvind Kejriwal is out on bail, but his case is ongoing. The court has ruled that he cannot enter the Chief Minister's office or sign any documents, effectively stripping him of any Chief Ministerial powers, making it impossible for him to serve in that role.
However, it is inevitable that he will face jail time. Once our government is established in Delhi, all files will be reviewed, and all corruption allegations will be scrutinized. Any wrongdoing uncovered will lead to not just one, but potentially hundreds of cases against Arvind Kejriwal.
IANS: What is your opinion on Swati Maliwal's accusations of corruption against AAP?
Parvesh Verma: Swati Maliwal is a senior member of AAP. It is widely known that Arvind Kejriwal has expelled all senior members from the party, including her. There was a time when he praised her, but now he resorts to insults and has even had her assaulted by his staff within his 'Sheesh Mahal'.
IANS: Why do you believe Arvind Kejriwal is silent on the Tahir Hussain issue?
Parvesh Verma: Tahir Hussain is the individual who was attacking people in Delhi from his residence. He was implicated in the violence during the Delhi riots. This is merely a case of vote bank politics, as Arvind Kejriwal relies on that vote bank, hence his silence.
IANS: The issue of Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants has surged in Delhi's political discourse. Why do you think their numbers are increasing here? Arvind Kejriwal blames the Centre. What is your perspective?
Parvesh Verma: The Bangladeshis and Rohingyas are not voters for the BJP. They migrate from West Bengal to Delhi. Whenever raids are conducted to identify them, AAP members clash with the Delhi Police, including the Chief Minister and his ministers. They often manage to procure ration cards and ID documents to establish residency.
Their presence contributes to rising crime rates in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal consistently defends these individuals by attacking the Delhi Police and accusing Home Minister Amit Shah because these immigrants form part of his vote bank. In contrast, our government's priority is to expel these Bangladeshis and Rohingyas from our nation.
IANS: What actions will you take to ensure votes do not favor AAP in the elections?
Parvesh Verma: We will present the public with evidence of Arvind Kejriwal's failures and the corruption he has been involved in. We will showcase the work he has left undone. The public is already aware of these issues. They are grappling with high electricity bills, contaminated water, and overcrowded hospitals where patients have to share beds, and they are forced to pay for expensive medications. The people of Delhi recognize that Arvind Kejriwal has failed to contribute to their development, and this time, they will not forgive him.
IANS: Since AAP has accused you of offering money to people for votes, will you continue this practice?
Parvesh Verma: Arvind Kejriwal promised to honor the women of the New Delhi Assembly. Yet, in 11 years, he has not made any effort towards their development. I have stepped forward to recognize women, and while they attempt to malign my character, I will continue to advocate for women and will persist in these efforts repeatedly.
