New Delhi, Feb 3 (NationPress) Labeling AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia as ‘Bade mian, chhote mian’, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Monday that the two would face defeat in their respective New Delhi and Jangpura constituencies due to the corruption they have engaged in during their decade-long governance in Delhi.

During a rally in Jangpura, on the final day of campaigning for the February 5 elections, HM Shah remarked, “‘Chhote mian’ Manish Sisodia has shifted to contest from Jangpura after failing to fulfill his commitments in Patparganj. If you encounter Sisodia on the campaign trail, inquire what compelled him to switch seats and come to Jangpura.”

HM Shah enumerated numerous alleged scams associated with the AAP administration, pointing out that they ascended to power vowing to eradicate corruption, yet both ‘Bade mian, chhote mian’ ended up imprisoned due to the liquor scam.

While canvassing for BJP candidate Tarvinder Singh Marwah from Jangpura, HM Shah asserted, “The sole accomplishment of Sisodia as Deputy Chief Minister over the past decade was establishing liquor stores near gurdwaras and temples.”

He added, “He is the only education minister in the nation who has been incarcerated due to a liquor scandal,” criticizing the AAP for being synonymous with “deceit, lies, and fraud” as they have failed to uphold various promises, including those related to combating corruption, shutting down liquor outlets in residential areas, cleaning the Yamuna to the standards of London’s River Thames, and increasing hospital bed availability.

Discussing the alleged corruption surrounding the construction of the Rs 52-crore 'Sheesh Mahal' for Kejriwal, HM Shah remarked that the funds utilized for this extravagant residence belonged to the residents of Jangpura.

“They have engaged in corruption amounting to thousands of rupees, and it is time to reclaim the embezzled funds,” he stated.

HM Shah accused the AAP of being a party known for breaking promises, contrasting it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose words, he claimed, are “etched in stone.”

He dispelled rumors that welfare initiatives would be halted, assuring, “PM Modi guarantees that no welfare scheme will be discontinued. Furthermore, a monthly sum of Rs 2,500 will be allocated to women in Delhi,” and mentioned that residents of slum clusters would receive ownership rights.

He emphasized that the moment has arrived to dismiss ‘Bade mian, chhote mian’ and transform Delhi into the world's premier capital by supporting the BJP and fortifying PM Modi's position.

He reiterated the BJP’s commitments to granting freehold rights to properties belonging to refugees from Pakistan during the Partition, reopening 13,000 shops previously closed by Kejriwal, and implementing health and life insurance schemes for autorickshaw, taxi, e-rickshaw drivers, gig workers, and the underprivileged.

Following the voting on February 5, the results of the Assembly elections will be revealed on February 8. In the outgoing 70-member assembly, the AAP holds 62 seats, the BJP has eight, and the Congress holds none.
