BJP's Candidate from Jangpura Calls Manish Sisodia a 'Fugitive' for Leaving Patparganj

New Delhi, Jan 4 (NationPress) BJP's Jangpura candidate, Tavinder Singh Marwah, issued a fierce criticism of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Manish Sisodia on Saturday, branding him a 'fugitive' for 'abandoning' his Patparganj constituency.
Marwah expressed optimism about winning the seat in the forthcoming Assembly elections, asserting that former Delhi Chief Minister Manish Sisodia lacks any substantial support in Jangpura.
The BJP revealed its initial roster of 29 candidates, marking the beginning of its election campaign. Sisodia, a three-time MLA from Patparganj and previous Deputy Chief Minister, is now contesting from Jangpura, a move that Marwah criticized.
He accused Sisodia of ignoring the developmental needs of Patparganj during his time in office.
'Manish Sisodia abandoned Patparganj because he failed to deliver for its residents. Had he performed his duties, the people would have rallied behind him. Instead, he chose to escape,' Marwah conveyed to IANS.
He further challenged Sisodia's assertions regarding education improvements.
'Since Kejriwal's administration took charge, thousands of children have dropped out of school. Sisodia, who touts education reforms, has spent one and a half years in jail. His primary concern will be securing his bail,' Marwah stated.
Emphasizing his strong ties to Jangpura, Marwah remarked, 'I have been here since 1998 and have triumphed in elections three times. I requested the high command to allow me to run from Jangpura because I have faith in my work. Unlike Sisodia, who abandoned his constituency, I have remained devoted.'
Marwah claimed that Sisodia is not well-known among the residents of Jangpura. 'No one here knows who he is. The local populace is overwhelmingly supporting me, and I will ensure BJP secures this seat and forms the government in Delhi,' he concluded.
Marwah also criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, alleging that he failed to keep promises made to the underprivileged.
'Kejriwal vowed to provide housing for slum dwellers but has yet to deliver even one. In contrast, PM Modi has built four lakh flats for the needy. Kejriwal's governance has revolved around deception and betrayal of the public,' Marwah asserted.
The BJP's announcement follows AAP's declaration of all its candidates and Congress's unveiling of a significant part of its list.
AAP is depending on initiatives like Sanjeevni and Mahila Samman Yojana to gain votes, while the BJP is targeting alleged corruption and policy failures. Congress has also criticized the AAP government for neglecting pollution and other urgent city issues.
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to AAP as 'AAPda' (disaster) and urged voters to scrutinize its pledges. In response, AAP has characterized its projects as 'aashirvaad' (blessing), setting the stage for a contentious electoral contest.
The elections in Delhi are scheduled for February, with official dates expected to be announced shortly.
