Delhi Elections: Congress and BJP Criticize Sisodia's Constituency Shift

New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devender Yadav remarked on Monday that perceiving the discontent among the public against the Aam Aadmi Party government, party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has essentially acknowledged his failure by omitting 13 sitting MLAs in the second candidate list of 20 AAP nominees.

The Delhi BJP also joined forces with Congress to ridicule the AAP's choice to relocate former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's constituency, asserting that this action demonstrated his inadequacy in fulfilling his duties.

According to Yadav, prior to the announcement of the Delhi Assembly election dates, Kejriwal had already replaced 13 sitting MLAs in the second list and included six candidates from other parties in the first list of 11.

He emphasized that Kejriwal's superficial adjustments in the AAP candidate lineup for the upcoming February elections would not alter the public's resentment against him for mismanaging their lives.

Yadav asserted that the AAP administrations under Kejriwal and Chief Minister Atishi had faltered on multiple fronts.

The underwhelming performance of AAP MLAs was mirrored in the party's decision to alter the constituency of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who previously managed 18 portfolios, including finance, before his arrest related to the liquor scandal.

Yadav stated that Sisodia was reassigned from his original Patparganj seat to Jangpura due to his inability to manage his constituency.

He further noted that the AAP's decision to drop 16 MLAs while announcing 31 candidates is evidence that the ruling party's MLAs engaged in corruption, exploiting funds intended for public welfare and development.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva also criticized the AAP for shifting Sisodia's constituency, asserting that it indicated his failure as a legislator.

Following the AAP's release of its candidate list on Monday, it became apparent that Sisodia would not be running from Patparganj, prompting attacks from both the BJP and Congress.

Sachdeva commented that during Sisodia's 12-year stint as MLA, Patparganj saw nothing but crumbling roads, neglected parks, and notoriety from the liquor scandal.

The area is also grappling with a severe drinking water shortage. Promises regarding schools and Mohalla Clinics have proven to be mere illusions. Most schools in the region fail to provide advanced science education, and many Mohalla Clinics are non-functional, he added.

Patparganj is home to a substantial number of senior citizens who, after years of labor, have settled in Delhi but currently require social pensions. However, instead of addressing their needs, Sisodia has failed to process even the previous pension requests, let alone sanction new ones, according to the Delhi BJP chief.
