How the Fire Unfolded

The blaze was brought under control by 6 am — approximately two hours after it was first reported. During the rescue and fire-extinguishing operations, more than 10 to 15 persons were evacuated from the building.
Casualties and Treatment
According to a preliminary enquiry, nine persons have lost their lives in the incident. Of those rescued, at least two sustained minor injuries and were shifted to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for medical treatment. Police officials said that seven people are currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
